It’s a great story! I really enjoyed it. I love those types of stories. So, thank you really!
Have you ever read Empire and Hidden Empire by Orson Scott Card or Glen Beck’s Overton Window? Kind of similar type stories, one from the perspective of a military man and another from a media mogul perspective. You should check those out if not. Your story is just as good as those.
So what I want to know is now that you started a civil war with Texas standing up and you’ve got some good characters in the businessman, cop, and FBI agent are you going to expand the story?
FT,
The Overton Window is most certainly on my reading list. Unfortunately with work as it is, I have not downloaded it to my IPad yet.
Thank you kindly for your kind words on The Example. It truly means a lot to me that you and others took the time to read it. Right now, I am working to fill out the existing story a bit. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet…if anything.
I have also given some thought as to what would happen next in the story, and how Carl, Lanum, Clifford, and Sheriff Cameron would fit in. I don’t want to elevate any of the characters to “Rambo” status though. I want them to remain normal folks.
I am going to take a break from them for a while and think about it while expanding on the first short story.
Thanks again for the link and support. I have gotten quite a few referrals from AM the past few days.

I hear that, if you travel much audio books are the way to go! Love my Audible.com subscription. But I spend 2 hours in my car each day…
I like Empire and Hidden Empire a little bit better then Overton Window. But they’re more action oriented and slightly further in the future. I’m also partial to Orson Scott Card.
