BECKLEY— I’d like to give a hat tip to The Black Commenter for bringing this to my attention. I didn’t realize that the nut job that attacked Fort Hood actually wasn’t a nut job but a regular Joe even attending advisory meetings with the Department of Homeland Security for Obama’s transition to office as an audience member. This highly educated U.S. military psychiatrist was doing the duty of Allah.
Apparently, Major Hasan spent the time before his attack passing out Koran’s and witnessing on behalf of Allah before carrying out his duty. As the above video portrays he was calm and collective only shortly before carrying out his attack. Initial reports, which can’t be verified, are that as he waged his Jihad against Fort Hood he called out “Allah Akbar”. He apparently followed the calling to become Shaheed, a Martyr, in the name of Allah. Highly educated and a devote moderate Muslim up until his Jihad. As the RAND Corporation has pointed out previously terrorism often is not linked to money or education. However, it is, in this case, linked to religious motivations found in the Koran. ”Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
I think this sets a quite scary precedent for Muslims in the armed forces. Is it better to commit Shaheed then to perhaps go overseas and fight what could be their brothers of the “faith”? If a Muslim’s war against the Great Satan is a just war and a Muslim U.S. Soldiar is fighting an unjust war that has to make for some pretty difficult cognitive dissonance.
Apparently, Hasan found peace in his book and a just way out for him. It is ashamed that the Islamic community won’t make some much needed changes to their book. The dozens killed weekly in the name of Islam continue to tally up day after day. Meanwhile, good luck to the military experts who may have other moderate Muslims in their ranks. As long as the leadership of Islam continues their “we are a religion of peace” mantra I doubt little will change.
UPDATE: Obama advises not to “jump” to conclusions. ”We don’t know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts,” says the President. I wonder what he means by that?
He means we shouldn’t get all wee weed up about it and say things like, “he acted stupidly”
LOL!
He means we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions until we have the facts the media can spin into making Hasan the good guy and Uncle sam the bad guy.
Thank you for covering this horrible incident.
Chuck also has an absolutely great post on the issue at Head Muscle.
As a retired Army member, this makes me sick, angry, and sad, as well as so very, very despondent over the tragedy that has been forced upon the families of the dead and wounded resulting from this despicable deed. All of us who share military background are a family and we grieve for those who are now suffering through no fault of their own and from treason from within their own ranks.
But I am sure that there is more to come, since we continue to face an enemy that will avoid no form of evil in their war against the West.
May God be with the Ft. Hood community.
It’s horrible. I couldn’t imagine. I’m lucky to live in a rural back woods community where the likelihood of anything like 9/11 or this happening are rare.
I don’t know how the military is going to address this but it has to be a serious problem. A committed Muslim will have some serious cognative dissonance with serving in our military. Yet, because of political correctness the military’s hands our tied on how to address this. They even knew about Hasan prior to these acts but only reprimanded him. Because you can’t punish somebody for their thoughts or what they post on the internet you have to wait until they do something. Very difficult to address….
I’m going to go read Head Muscle’s article he writes good stuff.
Yes, this is extremely tragic. What makes it worse is the realization that there is only so much you can do to prevent it from happening again. Radical Islamist is a very dangerous thing that remains alive and well 8 years after 9/11. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families at Fort Hood as well.
Thanks for the post, FT.
GO to Revelation 6:10 and Revelation 10:10
6:20
notice the man dress and time he was recorded in the store purchasing his things. I think there is a relation but revelation 6:20 does not exist.
assumption, maybe.
Think Japan has anything to do with the interpretaion of dreams or India?
Not sure what you mean?
The Pridgster here may have gone mad, FT.
Sometimes, I think some of the comments we get are automatically generated, randomly assorted words posted from some computer somewhere.
Not really sure.
Of course, the Pridgster might come back on here and explain himself.
Not expecting it, though. Blogging is a strange hobby for a guy who clearly struggles to piece together a coherent thought…
Should a man have the ability to see the future or grasp an image of what it could be, knowing within his heart, that people can live in perfect harony, it is his natural for him to try to change what has been seen or let fate take it’s course?
