RALEIGH— There are many sites to see when traveling the United States of America. I recently drove from coast to coast and had the privilege of meeting people at each stop as I traversed America. There were many surprises along the way and just as many revealing truths that fly in the face of the Democratic proclamations concerning healthcare and the economy.
Mr. Obama was elected in large part because the financial district fell apart in the midst of the 2008 campaign cycle. The solution presented as a massive bailout of all those banks foreclosing on the homes of Americans. The choice was then between Mr. McCain, who quit mid-campaign to race to Washington DC in an effort to do something. This was a two-fold failure. First he quit, second his face was latched to the corporate bailouts. Mr. Obama hid, said very little, and never quit his campaign.
In the end Mr. Obama backed the bailouts and even included special language in future bailouts that would save the golden parachutes and high dollar bonuses for employees of companies receiving tax payer dollars to stay afloat. But Mr. Obama also promised more jobs and lower unemployment. Part of the solution to increase jobs and stave off unemployment was to reshape Americas health care industry, despite the fact that the Financial and Real Estate Industry were the real rotten apples causing the crisis.
Upon first entering office, Mr. Obama issued his disclaimer: ”I am not to blame for this economy.” Many of his loyal fans continue to note this talking point in any conversation, regardless of relevance. This merely highlights Mr. Obama’s lack of tenure in government, but it is duly noted. Mr. Obama was not president when the financial industry collapsed. He was part of a Democratic controlled congress. The same congress that scribbled the framework to bail out all the failing banks. And he was the president issuing this graph to show why his trillion-dollar plan was needed. Without his plan, unemployment would increase to 9%. He and his team were fairly confident that America could borrow its way out of financial trouble and in the end, stave off unemployment. The highest it would be with his nearly $800 billion investment was 8%. Additionally, the unemployed would begin finding jobs just about now.
Across America this is not the case. I visited Carlsbad Caverns for the second time in my life. The first time I visited Mr. Van Nuys and I had the arduous task of not being able to make a left turn out of the World Heritage Site onto, what was then merely a two lane National Parks Highway. But thanks to the $800 billion dollar investment, the 25,625 residents of Carlsbad, NM now can make that left turn onto a new four lane divided highway. Our grandchildren’s tax dollars at work.
Littered across America were construction sites in the middle of nowhere with signs proudly listing the millions being spent to improve life. I met the construction workers who drive into the wilderness from civilization in order to build these much-needed economic recovery projects. All of them, without fail, had complaints. The biggest of which was, what do I do when this project is over, and the economy is still not together? In between these constructions zones were countless ghost towns and closed down business. Only the tax increases of the stimulus went to help the residents of these towns.
And now here I am in Raleigh, NC. I turn on the TV and find the US Chamber of Commerce is voicing serious opposition against Mrs. Pelosi’s “Health Care Reform” bill.
Good for them. Another $600 billion in taxes on the middle class and additional burdens on employers and companies while not improving the cost of health care or the quality of medical care is not going to help this economy. It is simply an additional burden on the citizens of this country.
So I will note, gladly, that Mr. Obama’s limited experience ment he was not President when the economy collapsed. It would be nice if the Obamapologists would also note that Mr. Obama’s promises have been failures.

I think it’s important to remember he was in the Senate from 2005 and did squat. Also, his time in state legislature in Illinois when he did squat. He’s just the best snake oil medicine sales man out their today.
He was there he just wasn’t President? What did he do to warn people, help people, or make things better. Um…try to pass an immigration legalization bill and um… nothing else.
Pedestrian. Pop star. Empty Suit. And Nobel Laureate.
That’s our President.
Great chart, TP. We got to keep that thing running. That chart tells it all on false promises and failed government.
