LONG BEACH— I keep seeing it and hearing it from the extreme lunatic fringe, the liberal left wing which has high jacked America and even the Party of the Democrats, George Bush and Dick Cheney are criminals.
Such statements typically come from the most ill-informed individuals with extraordinarily short term memories and an incomprehensible lack of reading comprehension.
The charge, Bush destroyed the economy. The truth, everyone is culpable in the meltdown. A global economic meltdown cannot be thrown at the feet of single man no matter how much one despises that man.
Another charge, Bush provided socialism for the rich. This statement makes absolutely zero sense. Socialism refers to any one of various theories of economic organization advocating state or cooperative ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods (think of Mr. Obama’s Government Motors), and a society characterized by equal opportunities/means for all individuals with a more egalitarian method of compensation based on the full product of the laborer. Such a charge is a mantra of morons with little knowledge of truth. And even if the bizarre twist of the words was true, it flies in the face of those who march forward with this banner behind Mr. Barack Obama. Under Mr. Obama the government has directly handed cash to the wealthiest in the economy, bailing them out of poor financial choices and business practices. Capitalism calls for letting them fall.
The truth is Mr. Bush and Mr. Obama worked directly together between November 2008 and January 2009 to address the economic crisis, develop a plan, and provide for a smooth transition in power. Yet there are still a few who could say in 2008 that the moves Mr. Bush made were evil and criminal, and turn around in 2009 and apologize for Mr. Obama when he makes the same exact economic moves. “What other choice does [Mr. Obama] have?” The answer, probably that choice you chastised Mr. Bush for not taking.
Under Mr. Obama’s plans there is a flood of evidence that quality health care will be reserved for the wealthiest while the rest receive rations. Energy prices will “skyrocket”, to use Mr. Obama’s word, making already steep prices in heating and fuel even steeper. An increase in energy is an increase in every product available, life becomes more expensive. And with that, Mr. Obama’s own promises of tamed unemployment rates and better economic climates in the future are falling apart with each passing day. If this was Mr. Bush’s promises, the mindless mantra would be a chant of “Down right Criminal.” But the Obamapologists just can’t bring themselves to remove the double standard.
At some point soon this will be Mr. Obama’s economy. There will be no more passing the buck. The promises of a campaign will either be fulfilled or they will not. If not, well only one person made the promise and won, and that person will be held accountable.
Last July when the Bush administration announced that the deficit would reach $490 billion, House Budget Committee Chairman John C. Spratt, a South Carolina Democrat, said those figures confirmed “the dismal legacy of the Bush administration.”
This year, Mr. Obama will reside over a budget deficit of nearly $2 trillion. Approximately $1.1 trillion of which was previously described as wreckless spending when Mr. Bush was in office yet is now described in a much more favorable fashion.
The meltdown of the economy is the absolute responsibility of the progressive, social engineers who did everything in their power to stop oversight of Fannie and Freddie, forced banks to stop “redlining” else be accussed of racism and face hostile protest from acorn or other “non-profit” arms of the progressive elite and force bankers to approve “ninja” home-mortgages to high-risk applicants and llegal aliens among other strongarm, thug tactics to promote their adgenda.
Of couse Obama and his elitist crowd won’t face the rationing of their own healthcare or let high energy prices ever stop them from filling their suv’s, private and yacht’s, etc., with their gov’t issued expense account’s of which the tax-payer inevitably picks up the dime.
Good missive.
>If not, well only one person made the promise and won, and that person will be held accountable.
How does that statement reconcile with your third paragraph? What distinction are you drawing here b/w Bush and Obama?
The distinction being rooted in the cause vs the promise. No one man could possibly pilot the entire global economy in a single direction and Mr. Bush never proclaimed himself capable of so doing. Yet Mr. Obama promised as much, even provided copious amounts of documentation as evidence that his policies will in fact pilot the global economy into a brave new world. Basically it rests on this quote below:
When all is said and done he will have to answer for the promises he made. He will be a failure by his own making and not by the situation he “inherited”.
Great Missive.
And… Well Mr. O. did promise hope and change, unfortunately people were and are still blinded by the hope that hope and change can only be positive forces.
People do have a very short lived memory, some facts that are not being given enough attention, are the facts that earlier this year when Mr. O was speaking out against the so-called Golden Parachutes and retention bonuses a few of the biggest ever were handed outwith consent were given out to people at Fannie and Freddie, that ever so called plan that has been presented after the original TARP, has made windfall profits for Corporates that in no way help any of the so-called helpless and needy, most of these ppl profiting do not even concern the so-called financial crisis nor are they really going to contribute towards future growth..
Something I liked about Bush was, his supposed criminal bias towards helping the rich(personally i would say businesses) were to a very high degree transparent, it was always evident who would gain, but now its just deception, Now, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or more down the line we will keep realizing that Mr. O keeps digging us deeper, made the wrong pockets even deeper, etc. etc. etc.. This has been right so far… I hope I am wrong… but most probably I will not be.
Forgot the most important line:
Have you seen “Loose Change: 9/11 An American Coup” ? I rest my case.
You’re serious?
