LONG BEACH— A profound question. Is there an answer?
On Saturday I geared up for some bicycle repairs. I had all my tools ready. A bucket of grease, wrenches, towels, replacement parts and the bicycle. In the back ground the TV was on, the volume was at the correct level, and the channel was tuned in to the Fox Saturday Baseball game, Mets vs. Phillies. It was going to be a good game. An old man (Moyer, age 46)going up against a young clown (Perez, age 27). I had the computer on also. I like to manage MLB GameDay while I watch on TV. It helps keep up with the details, as well as other games that aren’t on TV.
Multi-tasking? Please. This is baseball. It’s a pass-time. For a reason.
As I set to work on the bike I heard a question come over the air waves from the TV. It caught my attention. I had to listen:
