LONG BEACH— American generosity and political opportunism was on full display today as the House of Representatives passed a bloated bailout bill. Taxes, paid under threat of imprisonment by the honest hardworking citizens of this fair country, are being leveraged to justify the poor investments of businesses, bankers, and careless home buyers.
This bailout infuses $700 billion dollars of cash into the market attempting to stop a financial crisis that some believe would have put the pinch on the economy for years. 108 Conservatives opposed the bailout in today’s final vote. 62 loyaly anti-Bush Democrats opposed it as well.
The bill was originally a 3 page bailout which was rejected, rewritten, rejected, rewritten and stuffed full of bacon. This enticed 58 members of congress to belly up to the plate and chow down.
Thank you Congress for ushering in a new age of socialism.

Saw that. That’s sad to hear in more ways than one. Sad to hear the woman attempted to kill herself. Nice to hear the loan was forgiven, but sad to think this might encourage more people to do what she did to get their loans forgiven. I hope it doesn’t.
